Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 8, 2025
Klarity does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data. All disk analysis happens entirely on your Mac. We have no servers, no analytics, and no tracking.
What Data Klarity Accesses
Klarity reads file and folder metadata (names, sizes, and directory structure) from the disk volumes you choose to scan. This information is used solely to generate the visual analysis displayed within the app.
What Data We Collect
None. Klarity collects zero personal data. Specifically:
- No file contents are read — only names and sizes
- No data is transmitted over the internet
- No analytics or telemetry of any kind
- No user accounts or sign-in required
- No cookies, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting
- No third-party SDKs or advertising frameworks
Data Storage
Your scan results and app preferences (such as your chosen theme and visualization mode) are stored locally on your Mac using standard macOS mechanisms (UserDefaults). This data never leaves your device.
Third-Party Services
Klarity does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. The app functions entirely offline.
Children's Privacy
Klarity does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. Since no data is collected or transmitted, there are no age-related privacy concerns.
macOS Permissions
Klarity may request the following macOS permissions:
- Full Disk Access (optional): Required to scan system-protected directories. Without this permission, Klarity can still scan your home folder and most user-accessible locations.
These permissions are handled entirely by macOS and are revocable at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever update this privacy policy, changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Given that Klarity collects no data, significant changes are unlikely.
